Monument Valley

It's about a 2-1/2 hour drive from Lake Powell to Goulding's Trading Post where we got into truck/jeeps for a native-guided tour of Momument Valley. On the way we saw Navajo Mountain in the distance and when we climbed to 6,000 feet for awhile we discovered the landscape covered in snow! I'd say a couple inches!

There was a rest stop at a Burger King on the reservation that also housed a museum of artifacts including the Navajo Code Talkers, Navajo Marines who served in WWII and whose language was the only code never broken.

It rained quite a bit today, but just as it did yesterday, when we stopped to get out of the jeeps for photo shoots, the sun came out and the light was fabulous!
