Lunch Break

Yesterday dawned cold, gray and rainy in Sedona. It misted all day, in fact. Some of us in the Karuna Reiki class were mumbling about the fact that it was the kind of weather that was normal for home, but not what we expected here!

It's wonderful to be with such a terrific group of Reiki People who have all been using Reiki for several years, a different experience from the class over the weekend. Again, there are people from all over - two from Great Britain, two from Canada, even TWO from Minnesota (!) as well as from Seattle, CA, OH, NJ, MD, AZ, NM and SC.

Yesterday four of us ate lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant and today we decided to grab sandwiches-to-go from the Sedona Memories cafe and drive out to Cathedral Rock.

Cathedral Rock is one of my favorite places in Sedona. The red of the rocks is just awesome and there's a vortex nearby. When I was here for Reiki Drumming in January, 2007, Nancy Hook came up from Tucson and took me to see many things I couldn't have otherwise seen without a car. So, since I saw the Chapel of the Holy Cross at Cathedral Rock then, and since food and pets aren't allowed up the last part of the walk to the top, two of us stayed in the parking area, ate, talked and I took pictures.

It was fun to see unusually-shaped cacti ...

and blooming cacti ...

Bell Rock is one of the spots many people like to hike, and it has a vortex too.

... and this one's called Court House Rock.

Lunch break was too soon over (today was sunny and very pleasant) and we had to rush back through road construction, but remarkably we weren't late.

We spent the afternoon practicing our newly learned techniques and some of us spent time this evening at a Reiki Share which is held each Wednesday in the Kurama Room at Peace Place.

The photo on the wall is of Mount Kurama in Japan where Reiki was born.
